How should I prepare for the examination?
It is preferable to wear a comfortable, loose-fitting two-piece outfit for the examination.
There are no general instructions for all ultrasound examinations. Different examinations require different preparations:
ABDOMEN(GALLBLADDER/LIVER/PANCREAS): Do not eat or drink anything
6 to 8 hours before the procedure.
Do not smoke after midnight the night before your procedure.
Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to register.
PREGNANCY/PELVIC/TRANSVAGINAL: One hour prior to procedure, drink one
quart of water.
You must have a FULL bladder for the exam.

RENAL: Patients must be well hydrated.Please drink non-carbonated liquids until the
appointment.

INFANTS(PYLORIC STENOSIS): Do not feed baby 1 hour prior to exam.
Bring a bottle of formula or breastmilk for the exam.
